It was just a normal evening
After a very normal day
We were in the kitchen preparing our dinner
The house in its normal state of disarray
But the telephone is ringing
Who could want to chat?
An unusual time to be calling
We had better answer that
THE SCHOOL IS CLOSED .. .. .. you’re joking!
WYNSTONES IS CLOSED .. .. .. how can that be?
THE SCHOOL IS CLOSED .. .. .. Oh dear God, this can’t be happening
We were just about to have our tea!
Her school bag’s already packed for tomorrow
There’s topics she’s half way through
How will she get to see any of her friends?
The beloved Buddies she’s stuck to like glue
What do we even do about tomorrow morning?
She’ll be home, but we have to work
How do we build the courage to tell her all this?
Such news, she’s going to go berserk
What about the concerts she’s so looking forward to?
I have just bought her a new white top
What about the future she had all mapped out?
Her tomorrows have just come to an abrupt stop

And broke her heart in every way!
